Hupac ordered 8 Vectron locomotives, 4 of which were to go to BLS Cargo and the other 4 to SBB Cargo, of which the most well known is the 193 492, which received a nighttime version of the livery applied to the Class 193 Vectrons leased through LokRoll. The Hupac Lok received the name "Rhein" and the nickname 'Nightpiercer".
The locomotive seemed to capture imaginations, because it was announced as a model rather quickly by Piko and Roco (HO).
For reasons that I don't know, SBB Cargo determined that it would not accept these locomotives. This meant that the locomotive was to lose it's livery after only a few runs for SBB Cargo.

Today, I saw the first photo of the locomotive back in it's original blue colours, without the SBBCI livery:

I know that the Roco model will look nice in my collection, even if the real lok did not retain the look for long.
I have a Ferrymasters container train made up of models from Roco, Kombimodell, Rocky Rail and others, which seems to be a fitting consist for this lok.

I received my Piko version a couple of weeks ago. It will live on 1/87th size for years to come!
