Do they test anything before packing I wonder.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

The video is very nice! Thanks for sharing.
I liked to see when they are assembling the motors!
And of course I also like David's question :)

Best regards,

Very nice video! From some of my experiences recently with ROCO items, I also wonder if they test anything.

Hello John,

I was generalizing - thanks for the information on the locomotive that Märklin hasn't made just yet! Maybe when Florian Sieber reads this post he'll say, “What we don't make this ÖBB Rh 1046!!” LOL

I have bought three new Roco steamers in the past couple of years and have been very satisfied with nothing to complain about.
Maybe I have been luckyBigGrin
I do note that Roco recommends that you oil the connection pins on the wheel driving shafts and valve gear before use, and then run the loco for 30 mins in each direction to run it in. I always do this.

Have several Roco models, they are good machines, and I must say that the BR85 is a far superior model than the Marklin one.

It has come to my notice, for instance the ÖBB Rh 1141 suddenly was produced by more or less every manufacturer at the same time and don't ask me why, the model is ok but nothing special.

We have seen quite a few cases where a model is announced by one company, but another company either makes the same announcement the same year or tries to beat the original company to the finish line down the line.

Examples:

OBB 1046 Rivarossi, Roco
OBB 1041/1141: Roco, Piko
BLS Re 4/4: Roco/Rivarossi (Rivarossi released a model first. Roco announced models and Rivarossi rushed additional versions to market)
SBB RBe 4/4 (540): LS Models/Piko
DB BR 120: LS Models/ACME/Piko
I am sure there are more...

Modern loks like the Traxx, Vectrons don't really count because so many companies have models.

Regards

Do you have the dynamic steam version of the Roco BR85, and if so have you any comments on this feature?

Hi, i have both era II and III versions, this one with a MS Zimo decoder provided for free at a later date. Dynamic smoke have worked well in both versions and it is just a great function, more at lower-medium speed wich give a very nice visual effect associated with Zimo sound it is just a wonderful thing to see.
