Hi,

The plan below is coming together. I could have possibly wanted a second through station, but can't see where. Also, missing somewhere for food and beer cars to have a purpose, as suggested on the plan, but not sure if it would be too crowded.

I tried adding roads in SCARM but they are far too over-whelming! There will be some natural divisions to separate distinct geographical areas.

By having the spanning bridge I've managed to have 2m+ platforms at Peacock Central and more room for the coal power station and other industry and towns.

Layout

Good day!

Just a quick thought in re the food/beverage facility:

How dedicated are you to the 3-way point in the [edit] freight car grid on the right? Could you use a RH point and put the food/bevs plant between the 2 sidings and the through tracks? That may still be too crowded, but it might work. It gives a loading siding and a storage siding for the plant and ready access to the mainline.

Peace,

Jimmy

Hi,

I have too many freight cars to not have the sorting/storage grid. They're also part of the play factor.

I was also hoping for something a bit further afield, like a siding going to an industrial area. I'll see...

Thanks for your input though.

Henrik

Operating a second station would overwhelm me. So I guess you will be busy enough with one. How about a simple curved „Haltepunkt” for commuters adjacent to one of the industries with two slim lateral outer platforms (but without further turnouts)?
Anyway, switching the industries will keep you busy, too.

Have fun.

:o)

Thanks, I do think this plan will work :-)

To be honest, I don't think my track is long enough for another stop along the main route. And with computer controlled blocks, it would end up getting very busy and complicated. But a "haltepunkt" (trinbræt) was what I had been considering.

If it's not clear, "Little Sabre" is a passenger station and will have houses around it, and "Pixel City' is a passenger service platform for the workers from the power plant.

And if anyone's wondering about the odd names, they're mostly after our cats, Sabre, now passed away, Pixel and Zephyr and Pedro the neighbour's peacock which used to wander around in our garden until it got stolen. I need more places to use up the names of our remaining cats!

Thanks

Excellent.

I am a big fan of your mental scenic divider concept.

:o)

P.S: I stocked already backdrops for a similar future project of mine.

Well now, I do see a mountain on each side of your Mental Divider for naming opportunities, and perhaps that grand canyon/ravine that is bridged by that whacking great bridge (Oy!)...

Shadow Mountain
Fluffy Ravine
Mount Snowball

The power plant could even have a name (unless it is already the Pixel Plant Sneaky Wink )

Having fun with this.

I changed my mind about the bridge and have gone back to running down under the main station. Also, my wife wanted me to change the name of the main station to one of our cats, so it's now called Calypso Central.

Yes, that looks less troublesome. For aesthetic reasons: Since you have enough space underground, I suggest to eliminate the S-curve by inserting a straight section, respectively.

Do you mean something like a 094?

The problem with this layout is breaking out from an incline, it hampers flexibility. Also, Scarm refused to let me have points on an incline, but I am going to anyway. Slim points on a 2% gradient is hopefully of.
