Hi friends,

On eBay a few reproduction LMS cars (in my opinion) sold together with original boxes that have had their labels replaced with replicas. Why do they look wrong? The box stamp is from 1942! That was during the height of WW2 and clearly Marklin was not producing items for the British market at that time.

353 LMS:

352 LMS:

Both cartons are original from the time but the labels are replica. The cars seem to be over painted and stamped for LMS.

And the buyer of both cars gave a negative rating ... "niet real geen adres gegevens laat me voor niks 600 km rijden, wil money contant" I believe this roughly translate that the seller wanted him to drive 600km to pick up the items and would only accept cash.

Best,

Paul
