Howdy, first post here, had a few questions. I'm interested in running a couple other brands of stuff on my Marklin layout, but wasn't sure about some of it. First off, I'd like to run some Atlas rolling stock on my layout (boxcars, tankers mostly), but tried some today and discovered that after replacing the wheels on them with Marklin ones, the couplers were at least half a centimeter too high. Does anyone know of a good way to push the couplers down so they are not so high? Does anyone have a preference of American made HO rolling stock that may work better (I'm looking for CN/CP rolling stock specifically, which I've never seen from Marklin other than the Northlander)?

Second, I like a lot of the small Brawa locs, and noticed that they come in AC. Does this mean they're equipped to run on Marklin track? 3rd rail, digital decoder, etc?

Thanks for any help you can provide! This website and the forum are fantastic, I visit almost daily.

Can't help with Atlas, but I can confirm that the AC editions of the Brawas do work seamlessly on Marklin track.. The premium digital works much better than their normal digital offering..

Welcome to the forum, Jason.

You have knocked the good door. Just have a look on my MRR website and you will maybe get some answers : http://www.pierregillard.com/marklin

If you have further questions, feel free to ask here.

I am also very interested in CN/CP and other Canadian rolling stock.

To the best of my knowledge, Märklin produced two CN freight cars in the Alaska series and two Ontario Northland special series boxcars.

Pierre.

Jason: Welcome. I haven't looked at an Atlas car in years. I assume ther is no metal portion that could be bent down to get the coupler to Marklin height. Can any part of the mechanism be inverted to change the height?
