Did this forum change? 87/1 isn't the right term is it; that implies its 87x larger than something.. but what? 1:1 would be more appropriate..

Anyhow, the Siemens-Bombardier manufacturers have been found to have done a crap job at welding on some of the ICE4 trains, so the German DB isn't accepting any new ones until S&B get their quality in order.

Quote:
For the time being, Deutsche Bahn does not accept any more ICE-4 trains from the manufacturers because of manufacturing errors. As the manufacturer Siemens communicated together with the subcontractor Bombardier, it was noted "that occasional welds on ICE-4 car bodies were not carried out as prescribed".

In the end the Märklin train next year may arrive at about the same time the DB starts accepting and using the ICE4 more generally. Having to fix the welds on trains that are fully assembled and outfitted isn't quick since your talking about the seams on the bare metal of the body. Quality control during manufacturing - don't skip it.

LOL

you may get an extra instruction sheet to show you how to put it back together again.
Why doesn't Märklin start sending out again locos in kit-form, they would save a lot of money on wages and we would be able to buy cheaper models., at least if anything goes wrong with the assembly you can't blame Märklin for it. Brass models come in kit-form.
