I am trying to find an extra loco to haul freight on my Era III layout. As I have a plan with the small radius curves I don't really want a long wheelbase steam loco. I am, therefore, trying to find a nice diesel. The only Marklin one I can find is Marklin 37806 but that is out of stock with Lippe (Joes has it but it is quite a bit dearer).

I am looking at the following.

Brawa 42839 Gauge H0 Diesel locomotive BR V100.20 of the DB, epoch III, AC Digital Extra

This is in stock at Lippe and costs Euro 279.99.

Any comments?

Brawa locos are fine. You are looking at two different locs and I would prefer the Marklin 37806. You can email Lippe and ask them how long it would take to get it for you.

Just checked with Marklin. It is out of stock at the factory. Similar locos are made by Roco and Piko I think and you could check their web sites.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

There are eight specimen advertised for a little bit less on German eBay (at least some vendors offering PayPal and UK delivery):
