Hey all!
We recently bought a used marklin set , But some of our trains are making a pretty horrible sound.
I already did grease on the moving parts but it's still there.
Starting with a cold train it works perfectly! But after about 5 to 10 seconds driving the sqweeking starts.
I also tried new orginal marklin brushes.
Also switched the converter just to be sure.. 10VA to 30VA

Yesterday i bought a marklin train used , at the person where i bought it the train was doing just fine but after 10 minutes on our own tracks the noise started again and now it keeps coming back

This is the problem with several of our trains

Things we tried.

Greasing moving parts
Aircleaned the trains
Made a new smaller track
Tried Two different converters

It seems to come from the rotating little engine part , is there anything i can do about it? It seems to slow the train down at the moment the sound is there.

Below is a video of the sound:

Thanks for all help! :)

I have heard it too, it was coming from my 3003. Oil the wheel axels and the rotor (the motor's rotating part). There should be a small fabric pad, make sure that it is oiled and put a drop on the axel at the other side.

Was the rotor indeed!
Atleast right now it has been driving for 30 mins without any problem.
Thank you! :)

The only solution to this problem is the use of ball bearings for the rotor.

The noise come from the wear of the metal side of the motor frame where the rotor is siting

The use of lithium grease improve the situation but is not a cure

True, but this means that there is lots of wear on the rotor sits and this takes long time. Making sure that all is oiled before running it and cleaning/oiling periodically will help greatly.
