Hi Guys,

I have a Märklin 60943 motor and 60760 decoder. I have installed in Märklin 3005. I have followed wiring and soldering correctly (as I did in e.g. BR50 which works very well) but when testing the train it only bzzzing (strange sound from the motor) and does not start up in any direction. It seems the motor stucks, but the motor fits into the train. Without the electric plate on motor it turns into any direction with the flywheels, when I screwing the plate it does not. What do I do wrong? Any idea?

Many thanks in advance!

I have used the combination of 60943 and 60760 many times without problems. I don't think this is your issue.

Looking at the instructions for the 60923, which gives a list of the locos that can be converted, the 3005 is not present on the list. Maybe the 60943 kit is not appropriate in some way for this loco? (The 60943 is like the 60923 but without the decoder)

Have you checked that the screws are not touching the gear wheels at the back of the motor? On some models I have had to shorten the screws.

Also make sure that the number of teeth on the cogwheel of the new motor is the same as the original.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the help! I have solved the issue with oil on cog wheels.

Runs very well.
