I was just told that height of rails used in Start UP sets is 2.3 mm while standard height of C Gleiss is 2.1 mm. Is that true?

Exactly. I'm just arguing with someone who claims 2.3 mm are being used in Start UP sets but I think he is wrong. But if 2.3 are in My World they are not good for us to use anyway. I think he is wrong.

Hi! Originally Posted by: Hics I was just told that height of rails used in Start UP sets is 2.3 mm while standard height of C Gleiss is 2.1 mm. Is that true? Märklin C track uses rails with 2.3 mm height, Trix C track uses rails that are 2.1 mm in height. Rails have the same height - starter set or regular sale. So the statement is sort of true - but it is not the full truth. I don't know which height you find in current My World sets. But you can use them with both Märklin C track and Trix C track (but trains won't get power as the rails are plastic). |

Do you refer only to 3-rails C track or are you considering the 2 rails and 3 rails C track? About the material, judging by the color, I thought 2 rails C track was/is nickel silver and 3 rails was/is stainless steel. But was just a guess... Regards, Miguel |

We have a question in "General MRR" that does not mention Märklin or Trix, so my answer covers both types of C track. Maybe the existence of both Märklin C track and Trix C track with different heights was the cause of the question. |
