I am not sure what year is the first electric train make by marklin?

1900? Confused

But before that did they not have one running on household current? I also believe that later on they were recalled.

I've read a story whereas a prominent German Person had such a layout but his son wasn't allowed to go into the room, when his father died he spent a lot of dollars to re -wire it all to a current voltage system but disaster struck, the whole layout was destroyed by fire, the collection must have been worth hundred thousands of dollars, what a shame.
