Hello Kimball,

Maybe not in Queensland - you should visit Tasmania ! :

Regards,

Philip

I think he also needs to go to Canberra in the winter, or take the train up Blue Cow Mountain.

Yes and it snowed in Florida in 1902.
It does not mean it snows in Florida .....

How many times has it snowed in Hobart or Canberra?
Norway has a few hot days I am sure, but we don’t say it is hot in Norway.
:-)

Kimball

Hello Steven,

what's about Märklin start-up sets 29254 and 26254? Do you know them? I did not found it in Märklin's database, but bwbahn in Munich is offering this start-up sets (scroll down the page then the description is in English too). They may be of interest for some people too.

http://bwbahn.com/Maerkl...g-Bahnhof-Tunnel-Figuren

http://bwbahn.com/Maerkl...-Kombi-Ergaenzungpackung

Particularly it is a new idea of complete new start-up sets, especially for kids.Smile

Cheers

CS 3 is a controller system from Märklin - not a central station.

It's not really a new idea, both 29254 and 26254 have been on the market since 2017.

It is an exclusive set made solely for BW Bahn, and just like the sets made for e.g. ALDI,
they are not listed in Märklin's database - because you can't buy them from Märklin.

Per.

Umm, that is not the loco Steven. That link goes to a Nohab. You have the coach link correct.

No Z? Generally speaking (I am new to trains but I have preordered a couple for this year) how will I know when Marklin ships them to dealers? Or do we just wait for the dealer to call? It would be nice to have a heads up when a loco is inbound.

Hi, at post #1 you can download the PDF with planned dates, wich is updated on a regular basis.
Planned dates are of course just an estimate and items can be delayed.

I mentioned to a friend that it is frustrating waiting forever and then never knowing when I will get my Märklin stuff. He buys and resells a lot of Märklin items and gets his primarily from European sources. He has told me amazing stories about bizzare delivery schedules on some items, with them coming in multiple small batches and seemingly randomly going to various locations. He said that he hears a lot of frustration from buyers everywhere and no doubt it is worse here in NA because we are generally the last market to get anything.

So you can look at the delivery schedules and get some idea as Fransisco says but you won't really know when you will get something until the dealer contacts you.

Here is an example. I ordered the whole IC2 train and loco last summer. They all had the same time frame for delivery (3rd quarter 2019) but I got the loco in the summer, some of the coaches in early fall and most of the rest in late fall. That did not however include the cab control car which supplies power to the cars and holds the decoder to control the lighting functions for the train. That coach is just now in the post and it should come later this week. And 12 months from the predicted delivery time and me getting it is not all that unusual these days and is not even my record wait.
Regards,
Jim

I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
I have models from Era I to Era VI, but I try to focus on Eras I & III. Whoops, that one got away from me. Let's just say I focus on cool trains, regardless of the particulars :-)
So many trains and so little time.

Thank you, I was told something like that before I bought my first Marklin train early this year. And my parents told me patience is a virtue. So I’ll fit right in!

Mine did too and it turns out that they were right. BigGrin

Märklin trains are very special and worth the wait, even if that is a bit frustrating at times.

Enjoy! ThumpUp
