Very nice pictures from the restored BR 103 220. Probabely a new highlight at the museum.

For your interest a few more pictures published in the thread "BR 103 220 0 Touristik" at Stummis. Showing some pictures about the restoring process of the loco.

The loco shall be back at the DB museum in Koblenz-Lützel. But the loco is not fit for use.

I think they did one some years ago, I think for Eurotrain. I know they have done a diesel and some coaches.

They have also done diesel and coaches in Z.

The above image is from the catawiki auction site.
The Model numbers posted on the site are
3357 - Normal BR103 Loco
4217
4227
4285
4293
I suspect that somebody took the above and did a very good paint job on them.

Yes these are not an official Marklin release.

At the John Cousin's auction at Warwick & Warwick there were a number of these 'Touristik' livery coaches in one of the auction lots (since appeared on UK Ebay) and to be totally honest the paintwork was good but IMHO not excellent. I own the first issue Roco 'Touristik' coach set and the finish and paintwork is far better than those for sale at the auction.

I too wish Marklin would issue a HO version, it is usually on my annual wants list.

IIRC Roco have issued two locos in the Touristik livery to date; a BR 103, and a BR 218.4, and at least two complete sets of coaches. Also ACME were going to produce a range of Touristik rolling stock as displayed at Nuremburg Toy Fair in 2016, but not sure if the models were actually released.

Hello Adrian and Steven,

I viewed this loco at the DB museum in Koblenz a few years ago.
Whilst it indeed stands out, I did not find it aesthetically pleasing.

Regards,

Philip
