Hi everyone Cool

I've got electrical power on an isolated rail cut off from its bridges.

What can I do about it?

Thank you for your help

Is this coming from the S88 for detection purposes? Disconnect the wire from the S88 and test again. Also test the terminal on the S88 (wires removed) with respect to ground.

Harold ...thank you

I hadn't connected this rail to the S88.

I had done a test for electrical continuity with the multimeter ringer.

It rang the bell. I did a little bit of file work patiently. I did the test again. No ringtone.

The rail is connected to the s88 and works

Hi Serge,

The most often cause (in my experience) for not having isolated an outer rail properly is due to the fact the the rails itself touches each other. The rails are not cut always at an 90 degree angle, so with some tracks you will find that the lower part of the rails are touching each other. Use a small fine tool to file away a bit of the rail.

Always visually check that you have a rail gap, with movement of heavy locos and stock you will find sometimes that the rails will touch each other, specially if rails are laid on a gradient.

Hi Lasse Cool

Thank you

I noticed that detail.

What I can say about this amputation operation is very difficult to achieve. One little thing can upset everything.
