Hi everyone Cool

A big problem with a loco.

This is not a marklin. This is a belgian steamer type 29 that I bought a few years ago in my native country.

The name ot the seller is Treinshop Ollaerts. They have a good reputation ... but ... the after-sales service ..this is not Westend Trains .... far from it.

This loco does not run very well...These loco needs more rubber tires...the only plan I have ...here :

B29.pdf (40kb) downloaded 100 time(s).

Wheels and connecting rods seem delicate

How to install this damned rubber tires ?

Sorry ...sorry but I wait for an answer from these people for several days and despite my reminders ... must say that they are Belgians from the North ... I'm from the South !!BigGrin Blushing RollEyes

I think we would more help with the images of locomotives, hoops and wheels than this pdf?

As an American I find it hilarious that a country that can be driven across in 2 hours also has the cultural divide of "they are not from my part of the ...". But then towns have that same issue with west vs east side, etc. Still as am American where 2 hrs on the road gets you no where new ...

I do not live there anymore and I became a Canadian citizen...in terms of distances, what can we say about Canada then?Flapper Flapper Flapper

But that's how it happens in Belgium ... like France and the Bretons ... France and the Corsicans ... Spain and Catalonia

and why not North and South America, right?

We better stay there I think Minok

Hi Serge, If the tyre is on the back wheel, and the rod is secured by a bolt on that wheel, it is just a matter of patience getting that tyre on. The same with my br41 which has brake shoes very close to the rear wheel but with skill or practice, you can get them on.. If it is a stud then you are probably going to have to carefully remove all the rods etc. If the tyre is on the 3rd wheel from the front, you will have to remove all the rods etc as well. Time consuming I know but you can't bend the rods and get them straight again when they are in place.
2 pairs of glasses help to see what you are doing as well.

I was given a way to put the traction tires on . Tie two loops of thread onto the traction tires and it is then easy to pull them into place, After they are set, cut and remove the threads. Tex

Solution:

1. Call Westend Trains;

2. Speak to Mike:

3. Promise him $50.00;

4. Make an appointment;

5. Go in on time with the loco and the $50.00;

6. Hang around or go to a coffee shop while Mike does his thing;

7. Go back, pay the $50.00 and go home with your loco fixed.

Do what Australia Post is doing soon, buy a drone and drop the loco off at his place, free parking, go to a local coffee shop and wait for the phone call , when the loco is finished return the drone, no petrol, no diesel, not waiting for the right season, no need to hang around, no need to get lost and with a bit of tailwind you may get it back sooner than you hoped for
the 50 dollars you've paid for you may pick up another parcel on the way back and charge 50 dollars for postage, all you need to do now is forget about model trains and start up a drone postal service.

It's been a long time since I contacted Mike ... but according to my values I apply the procedure ... I bought it from a Belgian ... I put it to his responsibilities ... he does not face what to do ... . I make him bad publicity

To get back to Mike ... I'm waiting for his answer ... I sent him an e-mail yesterday at the end of the day ... too late for the answer ... this morning I will receive it and it will be like usual: '' Serge send me your loco ',

Today at 12 pm (Montreal time) if the accursed Flemish of Belgium did not answer me, I will unleash myself on Facebook, on the European and Belgian forums of trains

And in addition I will lodge a complaint against him in Belgium ... although I have Canadian citizenship, I am still a Belgian citizen and my rights in Belgium are always the same

It is a fact that you can not understand the relationship between Flemish and Walloon ... only Belgians understand

In my home village people say : '' Si un flamand t'emmerde, fais-lui une tête au carré ''

Do you send it as a trackable parcel? Is it insured?

I am always concerned about delicate items sent via the post office.

Maybe wrong but is the loco now out of warranty. IF so any model rail dealer that does repairs should be able to fit tractions tyres.

I think HO might be laughing at the drone postal service etc and not at you personally.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

Given the inherent frailty of being able to see only the words one writes and not the facial expression or intonation, it is always best to either click "thank you" to show one's appreciation for some nice/helpful post or make it clear to whom you are directing your reply. BigGrin

I, too, found the drone post funny but not so far-fetched as one may think; see the story about the Australian drone that delivered lately some sort of implement to two swimmers in trouble: Drone ThumpUp

Ok Ho I understandCool

I am sorry

You're right ..it was a bad day ... like that of today ... nothing works as I want ... I have a problem with a loco .. for its speed calibration ... it is supposed to restart automatically ... but she remains stalled to watch I do not know what

There are days where I regret the analog ... I ask myself the question of the days: am I done for the digital?

At the moment I want to fuck everything in the air ... 3 hours to try

I was not angry...but I had it all..like right now

Well, I'm going to watch 2 English league soccer games ... with our good Belgian players

Have a nice evening
