7205 are the close couplers for some older freight cars and coaches without guiding mechanism.
They cannot be used for cars with NEM pockets.

The close couplers for newer cars with NEM pockets is 7203.

http://www.ajckids.com/t...er=Marklin&item=7203

Years ago I bought a box of 7203 and a box of 7205 and I've been changing my stock over to these when they fit. Unfortunately many older wagons will accept neither of these types. You can either create a barrier wagon with a Relex coupler at one end to which you can couple these older cars, or you can run the older cars only with locomotives that have the older type of couplers.

I've seen some people putting newer close coupler types on old wagons by cutting the mounting bars and glueing new couplers onto them. For me this is going a step too far.

Hi Wolf,

This will work with the newer Telex if it fits onto your wagon.
