Hi everybody Cool

I have problems with telex locos and freight cars couplers : they do not couple

I suppose that a special coupler for telex is necessary, no ?

Which one ? I don't know

Thank you for your reply

There are different types of Telex couplers and there are different types of freight car couplers. Some are compatible and some are not.

In general the older Telex work well with older Relex wagon couplers and the newer Telex work well with the modern close couplers.

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Thank you RayCool

My locos was bought between 2012 and 2017. They are not certainly old telex.

Can you give me the reference for the couplers please old and new?

Thank you

Locos with old-style Telex were still in the 2011/2012 catalogue and maybe even later, so your locos could have old-style or new-style Telex couplers.
Maybe give us the ref. numbers of the locos.

Tom

Hi all Cool

Mike confirmed to me :

All of the locos on the list have a new style telex coupler so they should work with a coupler that looks like 46042 (by example). Marklin has only 2 couplers, relex, and close. Close couplers are installed on the majority of Marklin freight and passenger cars. Relex is found on older Marklin cars (pre 1990) and on some Hobby or Start-Up Marklin locomotive and cars.

And always according to Mike, this is me who commit a little mistake. I forgot the telex must be off for connecting the car.

Mike writes to me :

Make sure the telex is off when you try to connect to the car. You only tap the symbol on the CS2 when you want to disconnect.

Tests tomorrow

Have a nice evennng

It sounds like you have locos with the newer telex coupler. The new telex coupler works with wagons with close couplers but will not work with wagons with relex couplers no matter how hard you try (a fact conveniently left out of the Märklin catalog when the new telex couplers were introduced around five years ago). You generally can retrofit close couplers to wagons with plastic relex couplers.

Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I have a pair of Telex digital coupler ,at the begining they worked normally, after a while the loco was out of service , I encounter the follow issue, After actuating, the locking pin wont come back down by its own ,leaving the hooker moving freely and obivous, unable to pull the trains.
I have to push the pin down with a screwdriver in order to lock the hook back.
Firstly, I tougth maybe the pin is stuck , I sprayed some WD40 over it, then tried cleaning it with alcohol, nothing works.
There is no low voltage remaining over,it acts the same the next day.
Any toughts? I wouldnt replace them with Roco or Krois. Thank you !
