I am finally embarking on changing out my unreliable K track turnout motors of various vintages with ESU servos. Unfortunately the cable that comes with the servo is very short and unless you are lucky enough to have 4 turnouts in very close proximity to the ESU Switchpilot Servo, they will nearly all need extension wires of various lengths. ESU makes an extension cable, but I can source other servo extension cables of various lengths that would appear to be more suitable, and in some cases considerably cheaper. However, what is not clear to me is whether all of the 3 pin connectors are identical and thus interchangeable. What have other members used when using the ESU Switchpilot Servo?

Cheers
Peter

For servo's I would expect the pins to be consistent between model railroad and remote control and other fields. But I've not confirmed it yet. The servo extensions are just 3 conductor straight through , so what the individual pins are doesn't really matter.

Hello Peter,

I have only experience with ESU extension cable for servos.
It works very well.

The farthest servo has 2 extension cables + original cable to the decoder.

Never disappointed by ESU servos replacing original K track switch motors. At least something which works always.

Cheers
Fabrice

Any RC servo extender will work fine. I have used a wide variety of qualities/lengths with mine and never had any issues with poor control or interference etc. Any local Radio Control hobby shop will carry them. Amazon.ca also carries a limited section sold by them and available for quick shipping. If you can wait then the lowest cost are on Aliexpress.com
