I thought this film was quite well done. It's in French. You will see the CC7107 and the BB9006 set new speed records in 1955. Peter.

Hi Peter,
this movie is great ! ThumpUp

Especially for the BB9004, you can see catenary sparks at 16:20 of the film,
and after, they explain the rear pantograph has completely melt !

Thank you for Sharing !

Best Regards
Joël

Yes, Joel. Quite good. Like this modern one from 2009. Have you seen this? Peter.

The NS series 1300 were one of the export versions of the French CC7107.
They lasted a long time and were used for fast passenger and heavy freight trains.
Original livery was Berlin blue, later turned into yellow and black with huge NS logo's.
Unlike the French recordloco, the NS 1300 were having a servicespeed below 150 km/h.
Interesting to note that the frontends are slightly tilted, whereas for the smaller version NS 1100 the frondends were fine vertical.
Marklin sought the middle of the road with their 3013,it looks like a series 1100 but has tilted frontends, peculiar.

There is more to be found on famous French trains, for example Le Capitole ("The Capital"),servicespeed 200 km/h,Paris to Toulouse in 6 hours, full service on board, note the enginedriver is standing(!) and traffic in France is lefthandside (in The Netherlands it is righthandside).

And from the old box, when men were still real men, smoking and all:
