When I connected my 3 point turnout to my cs2 it occupied 2 positions since it has 2 decoders but I can't seem to properly connect it to my cs3.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Not sure where your problem is:
- creating a new position is easy on the CS3, it needs two consecutive addresses, the left turn-out being the fist address and right turn-out being the secong or higher one.
- Marklin Decoders are:
. + older general purpose 6031 decoders
. + newer general pupose 60831 decoders
. + triple point specific decoders 74465 décodeurs
the CS2 shows for each type the switch programming for Marklin decoders
For other brands, you have to find on the decoder documentation the way to set-up. Of course both decoders must receive the digital current and connect to the 2 switch motors.
Note: the order of decoders must be checked for correctness (one chance on 2 to be mistaken BigGrin )

So where is the problem in your case?
Cheers

Jean

Bill,

Can you please elaborate on the actual symptoms.
Also, please define the decoder(s) involved and if you have them set for intelligent switching of the two addresses
And confirm the protocol being used is the same for decoder and CS3*.

As with the CS2, the addresses for the turnout mechanism must be consecutive with the lower one representing the left fork
and the upper address representing the right fork.

I am aware that there are issue with the CS3* UI as it relates to the handling of multiple items (inadvertently or otherwise) set up on the same address
(there is a warning, but it is in German and allows you to proceed anyway)
The result however may be the inability to switch in one direction.

I would suggest editing the item to see if the address is "red" indicating a conflict.
This does not represent a conflict of the 2nd address however, so temporarily edit the value up one and again check for a conflict (Red).

If either is red, you need to resolve the conflict by deleting/moving the item(s) address until not red.

P.S. could you please offer a more meaningful subject description for this thread.
Peter

Thanks I believe I resolved the problem with the 3 point turnout but I have one normal right turnout that only operates in one position (the right) When I touch the screen on my cs3 for it to turn straight nothing happens.
Don't know if it is the decoder or the motor HELP

Most likely the micro-switch in the actuator. There are numerous posts in this forum regarding this problem and how to short out the micro-switch.
