I found in my Re460 from a starter set that low headlights are four yellow LEDs, the external ones turn on with F0 and the internal ones with F6, and are brighter. No red lights.
I have never seen a real Re460 with high beam lights, all four low lamps shine the same way. Is the high beam real or a Marklin fancy function ?

Thanks

The real Re 460 have two sets of headlights mounted in each headlight assembly, plus a red light. They also have a single light above the driver's cab which also has a red light.
I have seen Re 460s operating with only the two outer lights, with all four illuminated as well as with only one. I don't know why that lok was running at the front of a train with only one light on.
As far as I know, each light has both low and hi-beams, which can be selected by the driver.

The hi-beams have a longer focal distance than the low beams, enabling the driver to see further ahead than the normal lights.

For the record, I have never seen the red light above the cab in use.

I'm playing with headlights of my Re460s.
The light arrangements (at real) I've found so far are
3 front white + 1 rear white - usual Swiss arrangement
3 front white/2 rear red for shuttle trains
2 front white + 2 rear white : shunting ?
1 front + 1 rear white for parking
3 front red + 3 rear red for emergency
is this correct ?
is there an arrangement with one red only ?
please advise

thanks

regards
