Just purchased 2 Locomotives N gauge from Dapol in England. After receiving them I couldn't get them to run on my Marklin Central Station 2. Looks like I can change addresses on them but when I turn up the speed it just moves a little and I have no reverse control. Yes I bought them as DCC installed.

I live in America.

Thank you

Frank

Do you have other DCC N-scale locos that work fine with the CS2?

I just wonder - is DCC for N the same voltage as DCC for H0?
I'm "old-school" so I think about electricity first.... BigGrin

However, if you only run DCC - make sure that the MM & mfx protocols are disabled in the CS2, some decoders might have confusion issues when presented with signals with mixed digital talk to them...

Did you tested the lighting function on/off?
If they doesn´t works, you have default decoder.
I´m confuse when you wrote it moves little.
Seems power too weak to the motor?

I myself think it could be decoder "confusion" with protocols, depending on the installed DCC decoder, but we need more details from Frank.

Lights on/off is a good test to start with to settle that the DCC signal is received ok.
I myself would rather suspect "too much power" so the decoder goes into "shortcut protection mode", or a stuck motor/gears that need some "jogging"...

Sorry no lights on these Locos. They both take address changes but when I throttle up they just go their own speed I can't control them and I can't change directions. Dapol will be sending me two decoders.
