I really doubt the reference to DIP position 10 being for "mfx or non-mfx"
the mfx scan and configuration can be done regardless of the possition of Dip 10
Once configured and in operation the switch is used by the decoder to recognise DCC v MM protocol for the address

The clip showing mFX discovery is for an old version of CS3 firmware
With later versions you get an option to use the address from the DIP switches or (, if there is a conflict for example) assign a new address

Similarly, when viewing the list of accessories on the current version the CS3, recently discovered items have a red boarder to assist with picking the item out from the crowd.

Clearly a mistake in the editing. I use DCC for all my signals and mfx still works with DIP 10 as ON. I use mfx when I set them up. I never use MM.
