Hello,
I have started a marklin layout on two separate levels. Two tracks run separate from each other each with their own controllers:

A/
One controller is a 6021 coupled only to a transformer.

B/
The other a 6036 f80 coupled to a central unit and two keyboards for points /signals etc

I recently bought two loco's (steam and diesel) and all works fine- sound horn- engine-steam etc

problem:
Although everything works fine on controller A, Speed/slow brake/horn/whistle/light/diesel and steam sound etc; if I place the loco's on the other track powered by controller B
I only get speed and slow brake plus light, but NO sound on either loco.

Could anyone tell me what may be wrong here or if there is something I need to do.
your help will be very much appreciated

kind regards Richard

The Central Unit 6020 only supports F0 (but IIRC F1 should always be on with some locos, but F2 through F4 will always be off for locos).

A 6036 connected to the 6020 has F1 through F4, but I think only very few Märklin models (no locos) support those in this configuration.
Regards
Tom

With a 6020 F1 through f4 are only for the accessory wagons such as the 4998 and 4999 and 49960? wagons.

Thankyou,
does that mean I need to get a different controller or can adjustment be made?

Do you need that separation?
You can connect the 6036 to the 6021 and power tracks A and B from the 6021.
This will give you F0 through F4 on both tracks. If you need more power, then a 6017 or 66045 will give you that.
