Any recommendations or examples of sets to build an appropriate line (cargo and/or passenger and/or military transport) for the Great War period or earlier? The 2016 Prussian Borsig (circ. 1917) would seem to do the trick, but what else exists for cars and figures/items?

Hi AJH,

For a start, looking at Marklin, the best way is to use their website, and do a search using era 1 and scale as filters.
Then sit back and troll through umpteen pages of results, and pick things which appear to be appropriate for the scenes you wish to model.
Because for much of the era I stuff, Marklin often supplied vehicle loads.
You can probably do the same on the Fleischmann, Roco, and Piko sites.

Also, ROSKOPF back in the 1980s did a few era I vehicles in HO, such as trucks (LKW) and such.
Here is an example which I happen to be selling at the moment on ebay. #282366043214.
You will have to use the Australian ebay site, because I have not listed it on overseas sites.

regards
Kimball
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge.

Good information. I do have some of the catalogs, the website of course, and the app., but it seems to be an underrepresented Era compared to modern -- at least for the cars and scarcity seems to be an issue. I think current built loco and lots of eBay time make work.
