Hello, my dearest friends,

I'm waiting from E-bay for a Kokko 8852 and a BR 103 n. 8854, but I own an 8858 BR 151 too. So, my question is: how I have to turn the powering to the overhead? Need I to open the chassis? And what will I find in the interior? A screw? Or what else?
Then, another question. I've till now used my layout powering it by the track, but I want now to upgrade it to catenary. I realized too late, apparently, that the direction of the train is opposite regarding to the Control-Knob of the Trafo. It means: control-knob: right / trains left; control-knob: left / trains right. So will this situation make any trouble with the catenary? I've read I'll have to connect the catenary mast to the ground of the trafo.

G'day Stefano,

Only the newest loco's have the screw hidden below the outer chassis. The screw is located in the middle of the top of the loco. When turned in one direction power is taken from the wheels, the other way power is from the pantograph. One of your catenary masts has to be a feeder mast. It has a brown wire which you connect to a second transformer. That way you can control two locos on the same track. One draws power from the catenary and the other from the track. In theory you can run them in opposite directions because the operate from separate transformers. But that may lead to chaos.

When I was running analogue it worked well for me.

I also attach an operations manual - this is for a newer loco than your one and so the screw is inside rather than on the roof, but the principles still are the same.
