Hello,
Those of you who were fortunate enough to purchase any of these locomotives in the past (especially the 3045), I'd greatly appreciate it, if you could post any closeup pictures that you may want to share with the other members. Maybe tell us some of your experiences with them?
Apart from the road number and the Telex coupling, is there any real difference between 3047 (later versions) and 3108?
Is it true that the decoration rings on the stack of 3045 fade away over the years?
I have never seen a 3046.3 (according to Koll's). The difference is supposed to be in the position of the pump (right or left side). Can someone enlighten me on this?
In my opinion, despite the coarse detail on them (great at that time though), these are all magnificent locomotives and I only wish that Märklin someday reissues replicas of them (made of the same materials), but with different road numbers. I own two of them (3047 & 3046), which I had converted into digital operation with 60904. The smooth, majestic running operation of these locs are really awesome and it is a delight to watch their headlights shining all the brighter now.
Seasons Greetings,
Armando |
Best regards, Armando García

Hi Armando, I agree, these machines are wonderfull runners. I still have my 30 year old machine, that I converted back in 1972 to a 'supered' version. See picture. It was once the prestine No 205 (4045 I believe) of the Norwegian Railways. When seeing the machines in real operation, I had to convert them to match the vision I had on them (saw 44 135 making a splendid show and wanted to capture that on my model railroad, so I converted it with Merker and Fischer parts in those days). The idea to convert the engine is indeed interesting, and is one of the so many projects I fancy to carry out. Hope you like my work ... Best wishes, Bob

I am too an owner of a 3047, and a happy one ! In analog mode it used to run suberb, in digital (60904) even better. This is not a smaller copy of a locomotive, it IS a small locomotive ! Gregor

This 3047 has its 40th aniversary, my elder brother got it on chrismas 1965, with steam and Telex. Absolute classical lok, with performance and fascinantion still as on the first day. Hans Martin

Very beautiful indeed. Munich 1860: Nice danish N 205 you have there, someone is right now selling one just like it in Denmark for about 1450 EURO! [:0][:0][:0] Per. |
