hello first post, I'm looking for a repair shop in Michigan or anywhere I can mail them to. I have a older loco with gear problems. not sure the #its a 2-6-2 all metal old style light, converted to digital I would love to get it fixed.also have the ice3371 it derailed and the plastic coupler between cars broke tried to fabricate a pin but it didn't work. can anyone recommend a repair shop thank you very much.

I'm starting a second layout ,I have a medium size layout done its digital runs on 220 I'm thinking of doing the second new layout on 110 it will be fairly large hope to run 7-8 trains on it , my other layout can run 4 trains at once. does it make a difference or is it just personnel choice . I would love to hear some pro or cons, I have room to ad another 220 line in the box but the 110 is done and ready to go thanks for the help

Hans?

Here are some options for you:

There are several shops in Ontario that might be able to help you. Westend Trains in Toronto would be one of them. There was also a man named Hoffmann who used to run a Maerklin dealership in Guelph, ON. He is a member of this forum.

You may face a similar situation to me in Quebec, where there is no Maerklin dealer within a few hours drive.

If you have to send your items out for repair, here are a few dealers who do repairs:
AJCKids Texas
Helmut's Hobbies VA
Reynaulds IL
Westend Trains ON
RJF Trains NY

You can also try contacting Marklin USA. Last thing I had heard, they were pretty much only doing warranty work.

You can also contact service(at)maerklin.de. There is always the option of sending your trains back to Germany for repair at the factory.

The correct part for the 3371 ICE can be found by examining the Exploded View diagrams or part lists and can most likely be ordered from a dealer.

Regards
