Hello, Everyone:

1. By using two MS2 controllers on the same layout, one as a master and one as a slave, I am under the impression that I could control two trains at the same time, one train appearing on one MS2, the master, and the second train appearing on the slave MS2.

This way, I can stop one train without having to fumble with the controls to change display if I use only one MS2.

Am I right?

The answer may seem obvious, but I would like to know for sure.

2. Also, do all MS2's come with the same power pack? Such that the power output to the track is always the same (I am thinking of 230 volt sets used in North America with a transformer).

Thanks to anyone who will take the time to answer. BigGrin

Hi!

Re 1: The purpose of having two (or more) MS2s connected to one track box is controlling more than 1 train independently.
In a typical setup, all locos will be registered on the Master (up to 40) and can be selected on the slave as needed.

Re 2: I don't understand. The MS2 comes without power pack. You need one power pack per track box. You can connect up to 10 MS2s to one track box using one power pack.
There are power packs for 230 V and power packs for 120 V.
Regards
Tom

The real limit is the number of trains that the power pack will support. This seems to be reckoned as four running trains, although others could be stationary.

Thank you for your feedback, guys, much appreciated. BigGrin

The reason I was asking is that yesterday was my birthday and my wife bought me a wonderful gift, the Ice Train starter set I was asking to split in another thread but had no takers.

Here it is and Happy Birthday to me!!! Love
