This photo came up in a different forum. I have never seen this thing in a photo before. It looks like it is North American.

Does anyone know what it is? Or what railroad?

This is a Crampton type locomotive.

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

I found out a little more about it. it was named the "John Stevens" and was built for the Camden & Amboy railroad. It is one of the oldest photos of an American locomotive, built in 1850.
The tall stack is a spark arrestor

It would still make a great subject for LGB
Probably not so much in HO
