Over the past couple of years, the Eastern New England Chapter of the ETE has rebuilt our portable layout. Improvements have included conversion to C-track, full double tracking, automation, and several new/rebuilt modules. Last weekend we attended the New England Train Expo and a friend of the club spent a couple hours (and many more in editing) to put together a couple of videos:

Enjoy!

Very nice... thanks for sharing.

I'd be interested in learning how the conversion to C Track went, issues encountered, module specs, etc.

On the older sections with straight track, it was pretty straight forward (pun intended). We used a dremel to cut the C-track on the ends of the modules as we have connectors to provide power from one module to another. A couple of the re-built modules got an updated track layout with wider radius curves. Double tracking of the newer modules required a little more effort. Paul Bergman (club member and fellow forum member) built an amazing bridge adjacent to our viaduct (similar to what the BLS has done) that can be seen in the video!
