Hey Michel, any photos of the train lit up? For the non-Canadians' information, this is an annual event in Canada and parts of the US, see the following website:

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

The train is lit with Christmas Lights at night and several of the cars sides tilt down to form a stage for musical concerts. They also collect donations for local food banks!

Harold,

No night time pictures the train passed by during midday. The only way to get the train light up was to drive 500 KM to some obscure place in the deep woods of Ontario to get that shot, maybe next time.

Regards,

Michel

Hello,

The CP Holiday Train started from Montreal Old Port in 2009. This occurred once recently. Maybe is it because that part of the track belongs to CN competitor ? Anyway, here are a few pictures :

@Pierre

I was wondering whether that was the Canadian or US (D&H) version of the train. It is possible that the train might have started in the Old Port and then have been routed across Victoria bridge before heading down the line to Rouse's Point where it would join the CP/Delaware & Hudson line to Albany/Binghampton and beyond. If it was the Canadian train, with the operation of the line from Windsor Stn-Westmount-Montreal West being used by ATM, the train, which used to be on display at Westmount and Montreal-West, might not be able to stand in those locations like it might have in the past and thus it was decided to have the train stop in the Old Port. I will try to find out more information.

Update: I can confirm that this train with diesel 9815 (AC4400CW) was used for the Canadian train in 2009.

Regards

Mike C

Hello Mike,

It was the Canadian train. It came and left via Hochelaga.

Do you mind if I send them around to friends and relatives?
