I have a number of assorted Maerklin Sgns container cars and have a number of containers that I would like to be able to use with them.
I managed to get a Herpa Adapter Frame (084192) Set, which contains 10 pieces required to convert containers with slots for use with cars with slots. These adapters are designed for 20ft containers.
On the box, there is an image showing what appears to be a 40 foot container being placed on a two axled container car (47700 type).

Does anybody know whether Herpa ever made an adapter for 40 foot containers?
I have 40 and 45 foot containers from Herpa and other companies that I would like to be able to use with the Maerklin cars.
If I can't find something like the Herpa adapters, I was thinking of having some little feet milled out of brass or aluminum that could be inserted into the container slots to transform them into pins.
One last question. Maerklin has little clips for the 47440 type car. I wonder if they have a swap out set that has pins instead of sockets for those cars, as that would be an option too?

I go with another option, blue-tac. Just two small dots under the container and it will stay in place.

I am looking for an option that will allow me to quickly swap containers and not something that requires major adjustments to change or properly place. The little pins are very efficient at holding the container in place, yet allow for this. I might want to swap out Hangartner containers for Samskip ones or my SBB Cargo Domino ones for Crossrail/Ewals etc while the train is sitting in the yard.
