Seriously I don't see a problem with that. I know many collectors want to have an exact replica from a certain time period but I'd like to see it as we have the chance to build our own worlds. Create a miniature world that can be totally made up, or an exact replica of that summer day from 1981; or a complete mash up of things. Personally I am not a nostalgic person at all and I can even say out loud that I think that the brown Swedish trains from the time that I grew up is dead ugly :) That doesn't mean that I don't respect and appreciate others that like to replicate the railway and the environment from when they grew up.

But I would also very much appreciate that those that have a passion for exact replicas from a certain era also those into this hobby that doesn't share that obsession.

My five cents!

The bit that Goofy is missing is that without some of these fantasy paint schemes (and I include the blue Br01 mentioned earlier this week) it may be difficult for the manufacturer to get a reasonable cost per model for the real versions of the same loco. Somehow it is necessary to get the total production from a mold up to a level where it is economical to produce. So sometimes it is needed to produce a fantasy loco, and this is one i quite like and will go well with the similar wagons that have been produced over the last 3-4 years and have the Gerbruder Marklin markings all over them. They are all fantasy wagons, but we didn't hear this sort of response about those.

You could say the same about the Christmas wagons marklin produces each year, or the easter wagons, or .... the list goes on.

So for this loco I say ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp

I could add that virtually all the "hobby" series refrigerated wagons, beer wagons and tankers are complete fantasy too, but I love to see my trains of these colourful wagons. Life would be a lot more boring if we stuck with only the prototypically correct.

Don't know if I agree with that... There's enough different prototypically correct models to make me happy at least. But more versions would be welcome.
Fantasy locos? Nah, not for me. But as always, buy what makes you happy.

I buy a bit of both. In the same way as I watch drama films as well as documentaries, I like a bit of fantasy and a bit of reality.

I would think it will be similar to the snow weathered crocodiles and the like that have been done in the past.

Could be heavily snowed like this one.

Or maybe lighter weathering like this G1 crocodile.

No. Rare items for collectors. Do not expect a prototypical look.

It depends. Usually a train with snow does not look snowy at all. It is rarely half-white like the models that we some times see. Take a look here: BR 185 in snow

Buuuuut as with anything modelling, a bit of over exaggerating underlines the idea. I am considering these models for a modern winter diorama that I am planning.

It´s your wallet by choice real or fantasy model to buy.
I did just only wrote "another fantasy loco" which has no effect by similar model railway like prototype.
That´s way thumb down.

Maybe, but you do whinge and complain a lot about Marklin, and quite frankly your negativity is getting too much. Please try to find something positive in your life to talk about! /BDNZ

The 46459 and 47069 have 1 or 2 each per dealer I think.

It will be selling quick well but price push up past RRP price.
