Hi All
Looking to recreate a local closed line here in Urangan Qld. Was both passenger and goods service as well as produce and fuel delivered to rail-head on long pier.

The locos that serviced the line till closure were a PB15 series 4. 6. 0 and a diesel 1600 series

I had a look online for similar looking models but really can't see a lot. I'll be running on 3 rail track and using an MS2 controller when I get one LOL. Money is very limited so brand new 300 dollar units are off the cards :)

Here are pics of the prototypes

Thanks in advance

Hi Shanny,

Maybe you could take a Roco "Hummel" model and do some modification?

Roco has different liveries for east European countries.

Brgds Lasse
Digital 11m2 layout / C (M&K) tracks / Era IV / CS3 60226 / Train Controller Gold 9 with 4D sound. Mainly Danish and German Locomotives.

Hi Lasse
I'm trying to avoid modding stuff, I really don't have the skill or knowledge, While I'm not a rivet counter and it is a replica of a line now closed for over 20 yrs so not many from the era who drove trains etc. would pick up on prototypically correctness.

I'd still like to get the locos close, Like I have 2 BR 89 locos from my starter kits but there is a big difference between a 0.6.0 with no tender and a 4.6.0 with a tender even to a layman.

The 1600 series is very similar to many US GP9 series, so maybe I'm best to abandon Marklin for some 2 rail stuff for this project which is a very basic end to end system, possibly an excuse to grab 2 rail n scale GP9 starter pack and build up from that.

I do appreciate your time and advice
Shanny
