Hi all,

while at my local railway club(I am the only Marklin user so I take some two track stuff along!), they were haveing a buy and swap sale.

One item that caught my eye was a Marklin DB 90.

But it was a two-track version.

Not a converted one but a production model.

The underframe had Marklin stamped on it with what looked like a space for the usual centre pick up shoe. There was also a button type plunger switch.

Can anybody tell me about Marklin and two track please, or are these basically Triks models.

thanks,

mike.

Hi!

Märklin bought the HAMO company and hence used the name HAMO for their two-rail models - for HAMO and Märklin constructions.

I assume your "90" is an "80".
Does it have the regular Märklin motor? Can you show some photos?

Tom

Hi Mike,
Prior to 1990 or thereabouts, Maerklin made some of their products in a 2 rail version, and it was sold in boxes brand-named Hamo (by Marklin).
That is a likely explanation.

Thanks for the quick reply's,

DB 80, yes not a 90?

HAMO, yes I have heard of them, needless to say I didn't buy it(so no pics) as I wasn't really sure if it was worth converting back/to ac three rail operation.

mike.
