2017 will mark 60 years since the introduction of TEE (Trans Europ Express) trains.
What would you think of a red/beige fantasy version of an ICE, BR 403, TGV or similar trainset?
The possibilities would be the VT11 (BR 601), RAm TEE or RAe TEE liveries
Is this something that would be of interest?

Is there such a plan to repaint any of the real trains for the occasion?

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the TEE come from the Rheinegold after the war? If so how about a fantasy train with Rheinegold cars-Fred

Doe a RAm TEE not already exist?

I have one of those, I think it is the 4070 or the 4071 one of which was a simplified version of the other

As I understand it Mike's idea is having e.g. an ICE 3 in the livery of the VT 11.5 or a modern Swiss train in the livery of a RAm.

Later on TEEs were hauled by locos. Roco already made class 182 in TEE livery. The same could be done with class 101, class Re 460 and others.

If DB or SBB would make such a commemorative loco (maybe with financial help from an MRR company) then the model would not be fantasy.

I was specifically talking about a model of a more modern trainset (ICE1 or ICE 3, TGV or maybe even the ET 403 "Donald Duck") painted in a TEE livery, as were the VT 11 (BR 601), RAm Diesel or RAe Electric trainsets.

The VT 11 (601) had a red front with silver stripe. The RAm Diesel had a red front with angled introduction of the beige stripe. The RAe electric had both red and beige extending all the length of the train. These would be the options for the livery.

As I was speaking about trainsets, I did not consider the blue/beige of the Rheingold (1957-1965) but the subsequent red/beige livery that became the TEE standard.

Before ’62 the DB Rheingold was blue, not blue/cream.

I'll rather spend €200 on a TEE locomotive than €800 on a TEE ICE.
