Joined: 10/08/2009(UTC) Posts: 3,443		Coming Saterday 17th September I will be on a magnificent steamtrip in Holland,AKA The Netherlands. Around 10:00 hrs LT we will leave Rotterdam CS with a train pulled by the ex DB BR 01 1075,coal fired,destination Hoorn,NE of Amsterdam. The VSM owned steamers 23 071 and 23 076 will bring us to Enkhuizen. From Enkhuizen to Medemblik we will travel by boat. Finally,the 01 1075 will bring us back from Medemblik to Rotterdam,ETA around 23:00 hrs LT. Sorry,have no ETA/ETD for Amsterdam CS. The last time the 01 was in Amsterdam I think the enginedriver threw some sand on the fire,the volume of black smoke accumulating under the stationhood was horrendeous. Joined: 10/08/2009(UTC) Posts: 3,443		Steam all the way on a magnicant Saterday 17th September. Our host was the SHM in Hoorn. They operate a number of tiny but beautiful steamshunters,used in the old days to bring people from the countryside into Hoorn and back. They remind me of the Marklin Maxi tinplate scale 1 loco's. Also present in Hoorn was the VSM from Apeldoorn,bringing the 23 071 and 23 076,both in a very well preserved condition. And of course there was our 01 1075 from Rotterdam,stealing the show,as always......
