I recently added curved points (turnouts) to my small layout. They are brand new. However many of my locos and rolling stock seem to derail when they go over one pair. Is there a fix, short of replacing them?

Thanks

Regards

Ashok

Hi Ashok,

I have a few of those switches and I don't have problems with them but I am using mostly marklin locos and cars.
Sinceyour switches are new I suggest you check:
- the Wheel spacing of cars showing trouble (Märklin inner Wheel spacing is usually a little narrower); One trick is to compare the width between a recent Märklin Wheel set and the car posing problem.
- the operation of moving rails (they must move very freely)
- the absence of remaining ballast on the track
- The slider movement on modified locomotives (2 rails to 3 rails conversion) sometimes the slider cannot go high enough
Cheers
Jean

Merci Jean.

Almost all my locos are Marklin and 90% of the rolling stock too. I always test my layouts (I run table top temporary ones), first with a six wheel shunter and then progressively bigger locos. Both my BR41 and Ae6/6 derail (I'll check the slider on this one), but the shunter didn't. All three are Marklin. Ah well, intensive checking this weekend.

Thanks again

Ashok
