Please forgive me if this has been asked before.

I run a table top carpet bahn with an MS2 - can't get to the floor with my knees!

I have converted a loco to digital using the appropriate permanent magnet, motor shield and decoder combo and it worked fine for a long time.

This weekend, when I placed it back on the track after a fairly long gap, it just began running as soon as power was switched on. It would stop when I pressed stop on the MS2. In other words, it behaved as though the decoder was being bypassed altogether. Is it because of a short? Or something worse, like the decoder burning out (I hope not)?

The other problem I face is that I have a mix of C-track and M-track. Locos run well on the C and ok on the M but refuse to reverse on M. Is it a voltage drop problem and can it be overcome by connecting feeder wires to the M portion of the layout from the 60113?

Grateful for ideas and help.

Thanks

Regards

Ashok
