Good evening fellow Marklin enthusiasts,
I recently purchased a Marklin 37082 Class 10 locomotive (red). I always like to have the correct rolling stock with my locomotives. I need advice on the correct coaches to use with this locomotive. I know that there were only two of this type of locomotive built (never in red I assume). I also know that they were in use up to the mid 60s. Was there any specific type of express coach used with these locos?

looking forward to your replies.

John

Hi, John,

There were only two - and yes, they were always black.

They were used for heavy express trains along with class 01.10 locos.

Both Roco and Märklin offered Riviera Express coach sets to go with their class 10 models. This is just one option, of course.

So I think any express train coaches from era IIIb are suitable - pre-war coaches or 26.4 m coaches.
Regards
Tom

The red scheme of that loco is one of the schemes that was considered for these locos as I understand things from what others have told me. The blue/grey of the 37081 is another scheme considered.

But in real life they were only ever in the black with red trim livery.

Thank you both for your replies. I like the Riviera Express coach set so I guess it will have to go on the 'want list'.

There is also a Trix Riviera coach set that has three individually packaged grey FS coaches like the ones in the Marklin set. I haven't checked to see if the running numbers are different to the Marklin ones.

See, once you start asking questions you find out about all sorts of bits you'll want to buy ... Laugh Laugh Laugh

John

You mentioned Eurospoor. I am just getting back into the hobby again after a long absence. I live in Brussels. I could pop up to Utrecht for the day on Sat 29 Oct. Would a Saturday visit be worthwhile?

Jabez,

Just noticed your comment. I will only be attending on Friday this year but everyday at Eurospoor is worth a visit. Plenty of traders and plenty of interesting items for sale. Bring plenty of cash!
