I have a mate who has turned to the dark side Blink Sad OhMyGod BigGrin and is now a two rail convert (I tried, I honestly did, but to no availCrying Crying Crying ), he asked me, can the old style Märklin turntable be used in a two rail (DC) situation.

If the answer is yes, what would be the procedure to convert?

Many thanks ThumpUp

Nup can't be converted.. Tell him to sell it to you for scrap value.. $30.. Laugh

In truth, I am pretty sure that there is some way to convert them as they were also made by Fleischmann (okay - spelling needs work).

If it's the old tinplate 7186, the AMRA Qld branch have one on their layout that they've converted to 2 rail.

I'll have to get some pictures the next time I go (I'm a member of the AMRA), but that may not be for a few weeks.
