Hi everyone

I bought this old T790 along with a few other locos earlier this year.

Unfortunately, the whole lighting assembly is missing and the insulation has been snapped in half. (it should go over the gap that is between the 2 cylinders)

I have looked for the parts at Ritter and TTN, but I have not found any for sale. Perhaps one of the other forum members here has the correct parts? I have attached some pictures, as they may be of help to some members.

Many thanks,

Yes, I found some here: https://www.marklin-user...t-a-sweet-1950-T790.aspx and here: http://alte-modellbahnen.xobor.de/t21763f2-T.html

I could probably cut the part out of some tin, but the problem is that the locos above both have the part mounted differently. Confused

I don't think they are that different in the second link (which didn't work for me as a link) they show two different versions of the same loco. The first one of those have the reversing unit but the plate might be about the same - you just can't see it properly- the second loco which seems to be like yours may have a hand made plate.

Personally I would just buy a sheet of brass -may be about 1/3 of a mm thick- cut it, shape it, find the right screw and voila! you might have to insulate the new plate from the body, it's hard to tell just by looking at the photos. You will need the black double lamp holder which presumably?? might be the same as the ones from f800, da800, 3005 etc.

If you want original parts unfortunately you might have to buy a scrap loco off ebay. They come up reasonably often but depending on the condition can be expensive. I've got a scrap one which I hope to fix up so I can't offer those parts. I did pick up some SK800 parts last week and there looks like the front end of a T800 is included. It should arrive in about 10 days and I will check it out.

Problem solved! BigGrin Laugh Smile

I'd like to thank forum member ixldoc (Howard) for making a new part out of brass - I couldn't have done it any better.

The loco is now doing its rounds on the layout perfectly!ThumpUp
