I find that the wires on the Viessmann signals are very fine and can easily break, but the break point is usually where the wire connects to the in-line resistor. It isn't too hard to repair if the wires do break - I usually use a new piece of white heatshrink, and then paint the heatshrink to match the original colour.

The time you spent photographing each step is so much more helpful than a text based step-by-step. John Hi John, the resistors have to dissipate heat and should not be insulated with heat shrink. I even mention that in the text I think.
