Some good tips there Dale, thanks for posting.

I find that the wires on the Viessmann signals are very fine and can easily break, but the break point is usually where the wire connects to the in-line resistor. It isn't too hard to repair if the wires do break - I usually use a new piece of white heatshrink, and then paint the heatshrink to match the original colour.

Dale - Thanks for documenting this "Signals How-To". The time you spent photographing each step is so much more helpful than a text based step-by-step. I've just bookmarked this page on your layout website so that I can revisit it when I get around to setting up my signals.

Thanks Dale, for an interesting "how to".
I liked the ruler holding the three signal posts for better alignment before gluing.

Dale, the only suggestion I would make when using a shrink tube to cover the resistor as well, this will prevent the wire to bend at the given joint and may result in breaking off as Dave indicated.

Hi John, the resistors have to dissipate heat and should not be insulated with heat shrink. I even mention that in the text I think.
