Hello Everybody.
This is my first post, since I am fairly new to the magical world of Marklin trains.
My question is about Marklin 37938 Borsig Edition 1. I have bought last year this beautiful steamer (my first one), and I had to pick some wagons for her. Without asking someone expert on the subject, I opted for the following Marklin Wagons: 42232, 42252 and 42262 (I think from the 2011 catalogue). I know that there is a 10 years period between the steamer (year 1922) and the wagons (year 1931). Other than that … did I make a big mistake? Do those wagons “historically” fit my steamer?
Your opinion on this would be very helpful.

Hi Paris,
By the time the "Hecht" coaches were introduced the P10 would have been repainted in DRG black and would have been renumbered in the Br39 class, so it is not strictly correct, but I bet it looks good!
I have many examples of trains like this that are not quite historically accurate, but I don't believe we need to take things too seriously. Enjoy your lovely trains!

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Hi!
Those Hechtwagen were built from 1922 through 1925.
Not my area of expertise, but I think not much will have changed until 1931 (state of the models).
It seems the loco kept its number Elberfeld 2811 until about 1925 - and at that time the Hechtwagen were already around.
I don't know whether liveries and logos are OK for an authentic train.
For those interested: later numbers of the loco are 39 002, 22 056, 39 1056-9 |

Fleischmann has coaches that I think are appropriate for your loco. I don't know their part numbers when sold as separate coaches, but they were sold as a set with the loco and for 2 rail it was 481279. They are the ones that you can see in the video below. Miguel |
