Just for reference, here is pictures of my new Hobby Loco 36851 (made by Piko?). The components are only on one side of the print, but otherwise seems coming from the same source, the micro controller looks the same (16F676-I) Juha |

It is the same 16F676-I as used already on most/all their decoders so far.

I have converted 5 locos with the set: - A starter set ICE 1 - Wurt. T18 - Wurt. T5 - DRG 18 (S3/6) - ATSF F7
Verdict pros: - nice running on slopes due to regulation, no more increasing/decreasing speeds. - easy programmmable with MS - small decoder, fits everywhere
cons: - motor makes more noise than with delta decoder 66032 (also after oiling) - VERY (!!!!!) sensitive to bad contact. when it happens the loco just stalls for a moment and increases speed again. This is very annoying. I already soldered capacitors in 2 locos to help the problem (like suggested on the stummi.de forum) but the problem remains, though less. - clearly visible speedsteps. only solvable if you set the start/brake delay to a big value, but that isn't usable for a small layout like mine. - to fit in my T18 (DB BR 78) I had to remove some material of the permanent magnet part

So it s likely the 60901 motor hw plus a LP2 alike decoder. Good price indeed. Eric

I can live with the noise, but the sensitivity to bad contact is really annoying.
