I purchased from ebay the Roco BR10 68193. This is the 3 rail AC version. And I need the 2 rail DC version 62193.
I've never purchased any European locos before, and I was confused on the part numbers. I had no idea that these manufacturers make two versions of the exact same loco.
The ebay seller was Michas-Bahnhof a model railroad store in Berlin, Germany. So I just called them to explain that I purchased the wrong version.
They checked and they indeed have the 2 rail version of this Roco 62193. Now I have to ship it back to them, and they will exchange it for me when they receive it.
They were very friendly and were great help about this. They also spoke perfectly good English too.
Really confused on all these part numbers of the same locos.

It's always confusing when you look at the stuff in a shop with the manufacturer numbers... Roco and Fleischmann have their own numbering schemes for AC models and generally only one digit separates them from the DC versions. Very easy to order the wrong item, and it was a bit like that with Märklin earlier too but now Märklin DC models are marketed as Trix to avoid confusion. Great to hear that Micha's has great service also internationally.  |

many shop do split into AC and DC on pages. This shop do by pages Gleichstrom Loks for DC and Wechselstrom Loks be AC
still must check with number sometime shop put in wrong place on pages.. |

Ya I'm kicking myselff right now. I should have posted a question on the forums here asking about it first before buying. That would have saved a major headache.
Oh well lesson learned.

having bought many Roco models over the years I have got accustomed to the numbers which is which and I was surprised to find Roco AC models back in the 80's and I think it goes back even further when they first introduced 3 rail models, of course models produced in both versions can be changed over either to 2 or 3 rail by buying the correct spare parts, it depends how much your return postage is and how much the spare parts are. DC models as a rule have more tender driven axles as an AC model because of the pickup shoe but to change things over you can unscrew the bottom plate xchange it for the new one and the job is done and change 2 wires |

2 rail or 3 rail, you will enjoy this loco. I picked up the 3 rail version recently and the smoke it produces both out of the stack and the pistons is awesome!! A friend was with me the first time I ran it and his comment was "I gotta get me one of these!!" He ordered it the next day!!
Enjoy the loco when you get it.

Robert Ya when I was doing some shopping, the description said it smoke out of the cylinders. I was like huh? So then I found a youtube vidoe of it. I was in love. Really impressed with that. Very cool looking too. The wait is going to kill me.
