Here's the kicks off of the digital Faller Decal Bank.
If you have Faller decals it would be great if you can share them here with your fellow modellers. ThumpUp

Dear Forum Members,

Just a quick note to try and encourage people to upload scanned versions of decals found in their various kits, this thread is primarily for Faller but I am sure nobody will object to other useful decals being uploaded.

These decals can be recycled and printed on a home or professional printer, to help replace decals that have become feint with age, or lost or which were missing from the original kit. They are also a useful source for anyone doing a spot of kit-bashing or bespoke model building.

Thanks ThumpUp ThumpUp

I found these decals on the Viessmann website some time ago and were a free download, please note they may need resizing before printing as in my pdf viewer they look slightly bigger than 1:87

Hi

This data bank for decals is great.
I have a naive question: Is there a way to redo decals?

Another question: my rail decoration is after the 50's 60's and I cannot find a source for adverts and shop names, relief letters, etc as proposed by Faller item 922
("Schriften") except for a partly used one for 50€ (https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_...r+schriften&_sacat=0.) Are there other sources please?

Cheers

Jean

Jean,

"Is there a way to redo decals?"

I assume you mean to make the decal itself, the simplest way is to buy a special 'decal' paper and to print your own decals on a home printer. Walthers sell decal paper by a number of manufacturers and I am sure they are available from dealers in Europe https://www.walthers.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=decal+paper

There are two suppliers of decals here on my thread: https://www.marklin-users.net/forum/posts/t40841findunread-List-of-Manufacturers-of-Landscaping-Items---Kits---Models---Materials---Etc

I am not aware of any other source other than possibly the original manufacturer for old decals and this is why this thread can be an important and useful source for Forum members.

One can make one's own decals: if so make sure you buy the decal paper:
1) With a white base layer (because you cannot print white on most printers, and the color printing is designed to be printed on a white background (for the right brightness)
2) Get the type that matches your printer type (inkjet or laser) - using the wrong one leads to unsatisfactory results
3) Seal in the decal printing

Or you can have them printed for you and shipped - you could draw up your own artwork or hire the printing company to do the artwork if you give them an image of what you want and some dimensions.

For the 3d plastic signage - the way there today is to 3D print that stuff. You may be able to find a premade 3d model on shapeways or have to create it yourself and have it printed and shipped to you (assuming you buying a 3d printer and getting good with it is beyond the scope of replacing a few lettering signs)
