I just bought ICE2 that comes with Control Box 60113 and Mobile Station 60653. While I could carry out the basic functions, I could not figure out how to control the Turnouts through the MS. I bought the set 29791 and the box says that the MS comes programmed with Turnout controls. Please let me know if I should buy anything else to control the Turnouts.

Thanks very much for your help.

Regards
Ganesh

Hello Ganesh,

Welcome to the forum, we also have the 29791 set, my kids really like having an ICE on our Era III layout Woot. Unfortunately the turnout motors and decoders were not included with your train set.

The no longer produced 74445 set is great if you can find it, it includes everything including lamp to automate a C track turnout. The current catalog parts are the 74491 motor, 74461 decoder and the two pack lamp set 74470, all of which can be found at your Märklin dealer or on ebay.

Enjoy your ICE,

Gordon

If I look at the product description for #29791 it says:
"The turnouts come with turnout decoders and turnout mechanisms already installed."

Now of course the product description could be wrong, but:

Ganesh:
For a start: Flip the turnout over, do you see the digital decoder and drive?

It will look similar this:

If you do see them go to your Mobile Station:
1. Select the turnout button (the one with the white turnout symbol).
2. Try to switch turnout one and two (if they do not react, try to move forward and switch some of the other turnouts available. My guess would be that the turnouts adresses are 1 and 2 or very close to that). The booklet perhaps says something the adresses.

If nothing happens or the turnouts do not have a decoder and drive take it to your dealer.

I would like to thank you and 3rail4life for your kind and immediate response. It is morning here in Muscat and I am at office, so I'll check as soon as I reach home :-)

Again, thanks very much.

Blushing Yes, Ganesh, Søren is spot on, I had forgotten and was just looking at the picture on the box, which does not show the motors and decoders. Follow his directions and you should be good to goThumpUp. Unless for some strange reason your sets motors and decoders have gone missingConfused.
