Hello,
I just have received my two first LS Models passenger cars from Jocadis in Enghien, Belgium ( http://www.jocadis.be ).
These are two beautiful blue SNCB-Railtour sleeping cars with reference # 12007.
Märklin wheels that fit perfectly are # 700190.
I hope this info will be of use for those of you interested in LS Models passenger cars.
Pierre.

there is also a US retailer that sells these LS models -
http://tee-usa.com/index.html
I have never had any dealing with this place so I know nothing about their service. Their prices on some RailTop cars seems to be about par for what I have seen on ebay germany. Also have no first hand experience with LS or Railtop, but from the websites and photos I have seen of some of the models, they look pretty decent.

Lenght is 31 cm incl. Märklin couplers.
Is this the correct lenght for 1/87 scale ?
Pierre.

You are right ! Very instructive.
Definitively LS Models passenger cars are very interesting for the Benelux and French model railroader.
I have bought these cars because Märklin has not produced SNCB passenger cars for a while ( except the M2's ) and I would like to expand my Belgian trains.
Pierre.

I can confirm you that they are highly detailed. Prices seem very correct in regards with quality according to me.
You can still order those cars to Jocadis in Belgium ( http://www.jocadis.be ); they have an excellent shipping service.
Pierre.

Hi. I have some LS models cars (SNCF' USI passenger cars) and replaced the wheels with the same indicated by Pierre.

I also replaced the couplers with standard marklin close couplers (#701630) but in sloping bends they get embedded with the buffers. That is because the coupler seat has too much free play, to me; NEM statements indicate +/- 0,5 mm but they can move of more than 1mm. So I replaced couplers with Roco ones.

I see you changed couplers with marklin ones. Have you noticed this problem?

Hello,
I have used Märklin couplers # 72060 that are not short coupling and they work fine ... but I only have tested the cars on a flat carpet test C-track to date.
When moving the coupler in order to simulate an upward slope in a sharp curve, coupler is rubbing on buffer but do not jam.
Have you noticed an improvement with Roco couplers ?
Pierre.

Very good service, fast, accomodating... I've ordered several things from them and they will gladly order AC variants not shown on their website but available. That's how I got my Mehano G2000 - VERY nice by the way. I can heartily recommend them.

Yes, with roco couplers I have no troubles even in sharper curves... it's the only type of close couplers that works without problems with these cars. Obviously I keep Marklin couplers in the first car.
I had the same problem with Roco cars in full lenght (303 mm).

Bye
